We are in the breeding area of Bieri and in the cages there are pairs of partridges selected for the 2022 breeding season. As is normal, you hear a great squawking but … an unreal silence suddenly falls. All partridges are still and in absolute silence, you can hear only a chirping coming from other birds stationed in the trees. What happened? The most accredited hypothesis is that the gray partridges probably perceived the presence of predators, perhaps a buzzard, and that for this reason they fell silent. The operators who were present and who shot the video for us said that this silence lasted about ten minutes.
