As foreseen by the project, from next week the monitoring will start in the Mezzano area to verify the reproductive success of the couples that have formed following the reintroductions in nature last season.
If last spring the monitoring of the singing was carried out with the playback method (emission of the call of the partridge and listening to the responses of the males), with the result of at least 180 potentially reproductive couples, this time the control of the brigades will be carried out with the collaboration of the Enci pointing dogs.
We do not expect high numbers: it is known that a population that has lived the last sixty years in captivity, even if genetically suitable for life in nature, needs time to regain that rusticity that will allow it to live again in total freedom and independence.
