The Researchers’ Night on 24 September is an initiative promoted to create opportunities for researchers and citizens to meet and therefore to spread scientific culture and research professions in an informal and stimulating context.

As part of the many activities that will take place throughout the country, ISPRA has joined the NET – Science together by promoting a walk open to all and free in the Mezzano Valley (FE), precisely in the places where the Italian gray partridge is reintroduced.

Here is all the info:

TITLE: LIFE Perdix scientific trekking, partridges in the Mezzano

WHEN: Sunday 19 September – from 9:30 to 11:30

WHERE: Valle del Mezzano, Piazza Ostellato (FE), meeting point Via Giuseppe Garibaldi crossing Via Giuseppe Verdi, in front of the church of Santi Pietro e Paolo.

WHAT WE WILL DO: A walk through the Mezzano Valley where individuals of Italian gray partridge, extinct in the wild for decades – after being recovered and genetically selected thanks to the Life Perdix project – are currently being released. We will have the opportunity to see the habitats and one of the acclimatization enclosures. We will focus on avifauna with bird watching activities and listening to birdsong.
