In the Bieri Fauna Center (LU) the first 200 eggs were laid by the pairs of Italian partridge that had previously been genetically selected: the reintegration in nature of a species considered extinct is getting closer!
The technical staff carefully follows the deposition of the 270 pairs of our project, constantly monitoring the production: on each egg collected, the number of the pair of origin is first indicated, then it is inserted into the egg tray according to the date of deposition. The collected data are recorded on a dedicated database, while the eggs will be transferred to an incubator for controlled hatching.
